Preschool Picture Day FAQ for Parents
What if my child misses photo day?
I don’t typically schedule make-up days because I photograph many schools and travel for some of them. However, if a large number of children are absent due to illness or another reason, I’m happy to discuss a make-up day with the school director.
What if I don’t like my child’s photos?
There’s no obligation to purchase. You’ll get to view your child’s gallery first and choose only the photos you love. If you’d like more photos or sibling portraits, my Candid Kids sessions are another great option.
My child is very shy. Should I be there for their photo?
Usually, no. Children often relax more easily when their parents aren’t nearby. The preschool staff and I work together to help shy children feel comfortable, and I always give them time to warm up.
What if my child cries during their photos?
We’ll take a break and give them time to calm down. Then, we can bring them back later and try again. I never want a child to feel forced into taking a photo.
How long do I have to purchase photos?
Your gallery will be open for two weeks. Each school also has a free shipping date. After that date, you can still order within the two-week window, but shipping to your home will apply.
Can siblings be photographed together?
Yes, as long as both children attend the school. Siblings who aren’t enrolled can’t be brought in for picture day. For siblings who attend different schools, my Candid Kids sessions are a great option.
Why is there a watermark on the preview photos?
The watermark protects my work while you’re viewing your gallery. Any digital images you purchase will be delivered in high resolution without a watermark.
How many images will I receive of my child?
Most children will have 6 to 10 images to choose from, and sometimes more. I include a mix of expressions so you can choose your favorites.
Will I receive color or black-and-white photos?
Both! Your gallery will include color and black-and-white images, giving you a beautiful mix to choose from.
